| Tale One Me and my Satan |
My heads not exactly clear. Doesn’t surprise me, with a topic like this. I’ve been having nightmares since I chose this story. Did I actually think that Satan was going to sit back and allow me to write about him? “Are you for real?” “Think you can write about me?” “This is delicious from every angle.” Woke up at 4am. My mind is twisting, struggling with the idea of fitting this story into the mix of the other things I have to do. I’m sure, good old Satan knows that and is sitting back every second that I’m distraught, worrying over if I can pull this off or not. And from a dark shadow comes a voice, I thought I could hear in my mind. “You bet I am.” “You have the audacity to thing you can take on the evil one, with words from that good book of yours?” “Take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God.” “Bull!” “Always has been!” “Always will be!” And I prayed, “Dear Father.” “Empower me with your Spirit.” “Help me to extinguish the flaming arrows of the evil one.” “The one that has tormented me, ever since I can remember.” “You are my shield and my life’s goodness and hope.” “Let me stand tall in You, when I am low in me.” “Show me oh Father, that this is the day that the Lord has made. I shall rejoice and be glad in Him.” “You despicable. Despising. Revolting. Loathsome creature of earth.” “You play with fire.” “Then by all means let’s play.” “Let’s play by all means.” “Think I’ve annoyed you in the past.” “Think I’ve been a pain in the past.” “Believe me, you’ve seen nothin’ yet!” “The Lord is your Shepherd.” “I’ll stick the sheep were the sun don’t shine.” “Think hard, you foolish piece of flesh. I’ll make you sorry you ever woke up, this day. By the time I’m through with you, you’ll be begging your Lord to end your glorious day. Your brightest of sunshine’s. Your most wondrous of rainbows.” “Pray hard you insect.” “Pray hard.” “For I am Satan, an angel of your Lord and know His will and His desire.” “For I am Satan, having no fear of your Lord, your protector.” “For I am Satan and have eaten more souls than your Lord has gained with all of His power and might. With all His armies of angelic, white winged soldiers.” “I fear not. When I walk on my coals so red and inflamed.” “I fear not. When I glare at the path that lays before me. The path that your God says, dooms me at the very end.” “I fear not. When glass, rips through the soles of my feet.” Now, with a calmer demonic voice and a sneer. “As matter of fact, I rather like how it cuts my feet through.” “Now, this is where the fun begins and . . .” with a pause and a broader smile, “Well.” “I’m sure you’ll wish, you would have gotten off of my ship.” And I thought. I’m grateful, one of my Christian friends came through. Sending me words of encouragement, from the Bible, to fight this bed fellow. I’m sure the others are at least, keeping me in their prayers. After all that’s what Christian’s expect from each other. I turned in my chair, to a grisly red light and was faced with sight I certainly could have lived without. It was the winged demon I dared to pray against. It was the Lord’s fallen angel. It was the creature more feared than any gone by. It was the one I had vowed to think against. He was here and I knew this was no dream I could wake up from, no matter how hard I pinched the skin on my arm. “Hello my pretty.” He mused, in the witches voice. “Been thinking my name have you.” he said as his neck twisted from left to right, in a slithering sort of way. “Is it nightfall already?” “Thinkin’ you could conger some strength from your Lord words.” “You pitiful mass of flesh and bones.” “I’ll eat you and spit you out. Before you can read one single phrase, from that holy book.” “Mixed up thoughts translated through the ages.” “Ideas lost with each and every translation.” “How simple you men are, thinking that your Lord is at your beck and call.” “Ready to save you whenever I come your way.” “I pity your naive ways of thinking.” I felt a warmth in my pants spreading with each word. Looking down, a pool of yellow had begun to river down the chair. And a shiver and shake in all of my body, rocked my mind to almost faint with fear. “Wet your pants, did we.” With a laugh and a jump right up to my side. I could smell the stench of his fowl breath pour deep, in my nostrils. Making me want to gag by his closeness. “Now what could it be that revolts you to this kind of panic and dismay.” “You never complained before, when I’m near at your bedside.” “Each night you call to me, almost with glee, to create tails that stiffen so high.” “Then I can be your bed mate.” “Then I can be your chum.” “Then I can help you seek out the recesses of your mind, that form all kinds of nasties, only you can appreciate.” “Only you can find comfort in.” “Do you think I am the fool that would not take advantage of a situation.” “I know you hardly know any of the protection from your book.” “Oh, I won’t deny it being there. But knowing it and knowing how to make use of it, are two separate and distinct things.” “So roll up in a ball and call to Lord, as you may.” “Sing out the praises to your God.” “But after all is said and done you will still turn to me, for He may have words to eternal life, but I have the things that give joy and pleasure for the here and now.” “Admit it, my friend, who is the one who has given you all of those joys.” “Think loud and clear the next time you plan on doing battle with my kind of foe.” “And pray continuously for guidance and powers that could make a dent in my armor.” “I am the one who has learned with precision how to defeat this Lord of yours, through the failings of your egotistically frail minds.” “I have no problem whatsoever, being devious and deceitful.” “Names can never hurt me.” “I’ll eat your hatred for me up for breakfast, lunch and dinner.” I sat there as he rubbed his putrid cheek against mine and clearly made out the creases in his smile, growing broader against my tormented frown. And he said, to what I knew to be his closing. “I’ll go now, my pretty one.” “I’ll go now and leave you to think of your dampened pants in smell.” “I’ll go now and leave you to read your good book, that sat near beside you, all the time I spoke.” And in a flash his face, was face to face against mine and his lips pursed and as in a lovers kiss, kissed my own and were gone, along with the rest of him. And I thought, “See you tonight my partner.” “See you tonight, so peaceful sleep may come.” “See you tonight.” |
